Terms of Service

Effective 1 September 2026 · Pantri Ltd · Applies to the Pantri app for iPhone and iPad and this website

01Who we are, and what you're agreeing to

Pantri is made by Pantri Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom ("Pantri", "we", "us"). By downloading or using the Pantri app or this website (together, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you get the app through Apple's App Store, Apple's standard licence terms also apply; where they conflict with these Terms, Apple's terms take precedence for the licence itself. Apple is not a party to these Terms and is not responsible for the Service or for providing support for it.

02The Service

Pantri keeps an inventory of your food by scanning labels, estimates freshness, suggests recipes from what you have, builds shopping lists and compares supermarket prices. The Service is currently offered as a beta: features may change, be added or be removed as it develops, and occasional interruptions are part of beta life. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.

03Your licence to use Pantri

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, for your own household's use. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or lease any part of the Service, reverse engineer it except where the law allows, or use it to build a competing dataset or service.

04Your content

Photos you scan, recipes you import or write, and everything on your shelf remain yours. You grant us the limited licence needed to process that content — for example, sending a scanned label to our AI provider for extraction — solely to provide the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy. You are responsible for having the right to import the content you import, and for anything you share into a household shelf.

05Pantri Plus subscriptions

Pantri Plus is an optional auto-renewing subscription billed through your Apple App Store account (£4.99 a month or £39.99 a year, shown in your App Store's currency). New subscribers get a one-week free trial; the subscription starts, and renews automatically, unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel it any time in your App Store subscription settings — deleting the app does not cancel it. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policies. If we change prices, the change applies from your next renewal, and Apple will notify you as its rules require.

06Food safety comes first — please read this one

Pantri's scan results, expiry estimates, freshness countdowns and nutrition figures are produced in part by AI and are informational aids, not guarantees. They can be wrong. Always check the physical label and use your own judgment before eating or serving food — especially for allergens, food for children, or anything that smells or looks off. Pantri is not medical, dietary or allergy advice, and you must not rely on it to decide whether food is safe for someone with an allergy or medical condition.

07Price information

Supermarket prices shown in Pantri come from public sources and are refreshed periodically. They can lag behind the shelf, vary by store, or be unavailable — when we can't price an item we show no price rather than an estimate. The price you pay at the till is always the store's, not ours.

08Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to do anything unlawful, to send abusive or infringing content through scanning, importing or Ask Pantri, to probe or disrupt our systems, to scrape or bulk-extract our data, or to circumvent usage limits on free features. We may suspend access that breaks these rules.

09Availability and changes

We work to keep the Service available but don't promise uninterrupted operation, particularly during the beta. Sync and shared shelves depend on Apple's iCloud service; AI features depend on our providers. We may modify or discontinue features, and if we ever discontinue the Service as a whole we will give reasonable notice. Your inventory lives on your device and in your iCloud, so it stays with you.

10Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of data caused by your device or iCloud configuration, or losses arising from reliance on informational content described in sections 6 and 7; and our total liability under these Terms is limited to the greater of £50 and the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.

11Ending things

You can stop using Pantri at any time by deleting the app; any active subscription is managed through Apple as described in section 5. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive — including 4, 6, 7, 10 and 12 — survive termination.

12Governing law and changes to these Terms

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes belong to the courts of England and Wales — though if you are a consumer you keep the protection of mandatory rules, and access to the courts, of the place where you live. If we change these Terms, we will post the new version here, update the effective date, and flag material changes in the app; continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new Terms.
